Cat Power Grid Stabilization Heavy Duty (PGS HD) Mobile Module

The Cat® Power Grid Stabilization Heavy Duty (PGS HD) mobile module is a scalable, rapidly deployable energy storage system. The PGS HD integrates with solar or other renewable sources to provide short duration power when the renewable source is not available. The PGS HD also provides reserve power to optimize generator set operation. The system may provide temporary backup power to facilities in the event of a power outage.

Generator set transient-assist enables operation of highly-efficient lean-burn gas gensets in island mode, shutdown of one or more gensets for fuel savings, and achievement of high power quality on highly transient loads

Up to 30 min. Continuous Power

Enables smoothing of intermittent medium-penetration renewables, backup of facilities from outages, and contribution of ancillary services to grid

Mobility

Internally shock-mounted battery bank and air-ride trailer reduce vibration to enable frequent deployment and relocation

Transient assist

When used with a generator set, the Cat PGS module will provide reserve power capacity to:

Decrease the transient voltage and frequency dips resulting from the application of large loads.
Enables highly-efficient lean-burn gas gensets to operate in island mode.

Grid stabilization

Protects against many typical power problems, including power failure, voltage sags/surges, and under/over frequency conditions.

High performance inverter

Built-in controls for the charging and discharging of the energy storage equipment.
Static VAR compensator.
Four-quadrant output power factor control.
Aautomatic anti-islanding to meet UL 1741 and synchronization back to grid.
